          Layers of shingle under the turf are from the great storm and the Tsunami.

          Angular rocks underneath are from freeze thaw solifluction during the ice age when this was miles away from any sea :)

          Iron pyrites washed out of the Lias clay and found on the shingle.

          This makes a spark when struck with a flint and would have been a valuable trading comodity in the Mesolithic period.

          Possibly a flint tool, shows some secondary working around the edges but doesn't appear to have been finished.
