I basically have 2 little bits in front of the house windows for planting.

Last year I got 4 azaleas and put 2 in each side. This year, 3 have flowered and one hasn`t. Not even a bud on it:cry3: It flowered last year but then again was in bud when I got them.

The soil and position is the same so would anyone have an idea why 3 would flower and one wouldn`t.

It`s on the left, next to the Pieris

Did you prune it at all last year? If so you may have inadvertently pruned the buds off.

Alternatively they could have succumbed to frost and gone brown and dropped off (although you would have noticed the buds).

When was it planted? Maybe it took a while to get comfortable in its new position - sometimes when they are settling their roots the buds don't develop as well.

Some of my dwarf Rhodos were tricked into flowering late summer last year, so perhaps that happened (and therefore the buds were used up).

Does seem odd that the others flowered though.

Maybe someone else has an idea?
