I have a Picea pungens 'Fat Albert', planted for a year. As you can see, it is growing kind of crooked and I'm wondering if I need to be staking it or should I just leave it alone and it might correct itself? The main stem does seem to be sweeping upwards in a curve.

I have uploaded a short clip here:

I would stake it, it'll probably straighten it's self up but leave a kink in the stem.

Are you sure it is the correct variety?
Only reason I ask is because it appears to want to be prostrate and the variety you mention is upright.

I think it's correct. Well that's what I paid for. I guess it's possible they sold me the wrong one but not sure how I would even tell at this point. It seems to be wanting to correct itself as it's curving upwards slowly but I am going to try stake it for a year

Be careful when you stake it. Put the stake in at an angle, well away from the roots. You don't want to damage them by driving a stake through them.
