I am hoping my banana Musella Lasiocarpa has bulked up enough to flower this year.

Well, its much bigger than the one I have Walnut.:thumb:

In fact I'm trying one for the first time this year, I'm surprised how slow they are in comparison to Musa, growth wise.

Yours seems to be spending most of its energy on growing pups.

As to how big a particular stem needs to be before flowering is a mystery to me.

Walnut, thats a fabulous tree. Does that mean bananas all round then?

With UK trees, they won't flower till they become adult - which in normally determined by years rather than size. Would that be the same for a banana?
