I reckon every on-line bank account that we do not have, has been suspended this week because of suspicious activity.

Let me guess. I'll you have to to sort it is follow the link in the email that leads to a spoofed fake banking website, fill in all your personal details and account details and everything they need to empty your account?

I get cheesed off when I'm *in* my online account, spot a query - call them, then get asked a question from my security selection (which I haven't been asked for umph years because I do internet banking!) say, "Oops, ask me another I can't remember *that* one ... " and as quick as you like, the internet banking gets frozen; I get put through to "another security" desk and ...

... all I wanted to know was: why is the sort code/account number on your pre-arranged list different from the one quoted online (to pay my Council Tax)?

    Overkill methinks.

But yes, if it is a bank account you do not have and it is via email - it's phishing.

 How do you know that everybody else's accounts have been suspended?

I meant that we do not actually have an on-line bank account with any of the Banks which these Emails appear to come from.
        Sheesh, revolt of the pedants!

So they are 'phishing' emails? (rather than legit notifications of "suspicious activity")

I just delete everything from everybody, report it all as spam and use my local bank.

These phishing emails are getting quite good now, had 1 from Natwest this week with only 1 spelling mistake.
