    Hi, Peggy ...

Not that I know of. Mine was given to me as a cutting/rooting present when I was on the Isle of Wight to bring here in 2001 when I actually moved here and it's in a pot on my kitchen patio now and about 130cms tall.

If there is a specific meaning to it, it is obviously good in my situation.

Perhaps someone else here will have some other thoughts ... I'd also be interested if there is an answer as we're not friends with those people any more ....

A friend of mine was given a bay tree in a pot as a 40th birthday present.

This is one my grandmother used to tell us about the Bay tree in her garden...

Pin Bay leaves to your pillow on the Eve of St Valentine, one at each corner & one in the middle
and you will dream of your future husband..

    :gnthb:
It actually dates back to Elizabethan days..!!
