Cor Runner Beans, how come you've managed to get them before me - are you not suffering from this mini ice-age we are getting down south?

A bit of skill and a lot of luck John. They are against the back wall of my garage facing south and are well sheltered. I reckon they are late this year..!

I was going to post about Runners. I only have a few plants growing up a 'wigwam', and they still haven't reached the top, got flowers though. So, it's not just me then?

I must be one of the lucky ones as I've also just picked a nice first crop of runners, Cobra - surprised they are this far forward as bought from nursery and plonked in wigwam style in spring.
And a bumper crop of rhubarb which I've been picking for months it seems, have a lot at the moment so gearing up for jam making.

Agree though things are haphazard this year.

I've had three lots of French beans so far, but my runners are really looking sad! They are just at the top of the wigwams but hardly any flowers , it's a really difficult year for veg I think!
My rhubarb has been quite good but again I've had better years.
My carrots are still so small we've not had any to eat so far.....but I won't give up they will all catch up I'm sure! :dbgrtmb:

I've got one runner bean now at eating size, and a few others not far behind. Mine have been covered in blackfly for weeks, sapping their energy. I keep spraying with soap but they just come back for more!
