    Hi all :)

I have two nest boxes in my garden, one closed face and one open robin box. The closed box was being used for roosting prior to nesting by a great tit and the robin box was already for nesting, mrs robin had built a nest and everything but following a sparrowhawk incident in the garden about 8 weeks ago both nests were abandoned,I can only assume that the residents of both boxes witnessed the slaughter and thought "Sod that we're moving". Anyway, back to the issue in hand, the open box is now being visited on a regular basis by up to half a dozen small bees at a time who fly in stay a while then fly off, the question is what are they doing and should I let them get on with it or clear the box? :cnfs:

Leave them bee (sorry :) ).

They won't do any harm and bees often take over abandoned nest sites of other small creatures. As far as I'm aware, all species of bees that we have here are non-aggressive, so as long as you don't start poking them with pointy sticks they will just go about their business and leave you alone.

    Thanks for that clueless :thmb:

As you say they are harmless and will fly very close to my head as if I wasn't there when they go in and out.
I personnaly don't mind them being there but Mrs Pip might not like them in the garden :(
