Berberis Thumbergii Now sorted

I've been trying to take cutting, but none are rooting, done soft and hard wood cutting but they're not rooting any one know why please

 

I'm sure that someone on another forum described them as touchy from cuttings.
Not specifically about Berberis but when I struggle with something I find that heel cuttings can be the answer.

 

Thank you longk, can i ask how you do heel cutting please as i've not done them before

When I googled for a simple how to page the RHS page came up. Interestingly Berberis was one of the plants cited for heel cuttings................
