I’m sure it’s an age old question but I can’t find the answer on GC….

I’m going through catalogues and the web choosing my seeds (sets) for the year and just wandered if people had any recommendations for shallots.

I’ve loads of onions already on but want to plant a bed of shallots mainly for pickling. But which ones to get???
We like traditional crunchy pickled onions (I don’t know if the variety makes any difference to this?)

    Ones I’m considering so far:
    Red sun
    Pikant
    Prisma
    Springfield

    Any opinions greatly recieved
    Thanks
