Just wondering what you thought of your gifts this year and which you would rate as the best gift, and/or, your worst gift (tact and diplomacy, if you can't manage discretion, should you have family who read your posts on here  ).

My family always complain that I am difficult to buy for (can't imagine why! I have numerous hobbies to start with  ) and so it does tend to be a bit of a hit and miss affair when it comes to their choices :heehee: Not that I mind in the least because I always appreciate the thought, time and effort they put in.

So, I'll kick start the theme:

Worst: (stocking gift) A pack of cotton wool pads  :noidea:

Best: (bit cheesy, but true) having all of us together this year :wub2: But, if it comes down to a wrapped gift, then I'm going to go with the beautiful tea light lantern I was given; totally unexpected and so pretty! Come to mention it, the "giver" was given a bit of a surprise too because ... it wasn't the one he had ordered  :roflol:

Ok, over to the next brave soul .... :coffee:

As many of you know Mr S and I don't celebrate Christmas.

Worst.......With no gifts exchanging hands the worst for me was the abysmal weather on our day out yesterday (Christmas Day).

The best gift I could have had.....intending to skype with my elder daughter and grandchildren later yesterday it turned out to be an International four way skype!

My elder daughter and family back on the Isle of Man
My son and daughter-in-law in Ohio, America
My younger daughter and boyfriend in British Columbia, Canada
.....And of course Mr S and I here in Scotland.

It was wonderful and I thank modern technology for allowing us to do this! :love30:

 I can't say as we don't exchange gifts ... well, after 50 years we have everything we want/need and, if not, buy it as and when. We don't exchange with friends either ... just share a nice meal out. :imphrt:

As per others, best gifts for me are the intangible ones. Family get together, seeing my kids sheer delight at all their new stuff, and an epic act of kindness orchestrated by my other family. Details of which I darent post here because I'm sworn to secrecy.

            But of the tangible stuff....

Best: Xbox One. This was a last minute surprise.

Worst : Another pair of jeans that don't fit me, not because of the waist size, but because it seems modern man ( ie not me) has cocktail sticks for legs. It seems that if you have enough leg muscles to stand up, you have too much to fit in modern jeans.

We, also, don't exchange gifts with family and friends. Seems to be quite a few of us :) We do things very similar to Victoria. :dbgrtmb:

Best present is a pair of water resistant, windproof, Gore-Tex lined, high tech insulated, breathable outdoor activity gloves with high grip palms and touchscreen compatible finger/thumb tips.

They are especially suitable for using one's touch screen phone, camera, tablet etc. whilst cycling, climbing, skiing, dog sledding, etc., as they avoid the need for the potentially dangerous taking off and putting pack on of gloves whilst engaged in such activities.

Sounds good, if you've got all those techy things. :dbgrtmb: As I only have me and a digital camera (no touchscreen) I manage OK with ordinary gloves :heehee:

I can see why taking off gloves whilst cycling, climbing, skiing, dog sledging, etc., to use a phone/tablet/camera (!) could be dangerous  Glad you've got it covered :phew:

Haven't had any worst prezzies this year as we usually buy practical gifts for each other and don't go mad:biggrin:My main prezzies was the new watch to replace the one I used to wear but had to give up with it as the metal caused a rash on my wrist after a number of years when I got hot and the metal reacted with my perspiration:snorky: The fluffy socks are because I am struggling to get into my slippers with my wide fit feet due to my bunions and the diary is because I have now started to write a diary so I can remember exactly what we have done each day now that my memory cells are starting to vanish oh and I needed some new Jim jams so have two new identical sets:snorky:

No wonder I sat there wondering how I can help others next year, and maybe give someone a Christmas at home with people who care about them.

Worst: A secret santa gift that was obviously a regift. An adult colouring book. No, not naughty pics to be colourized just line drawings. Luckily one daughter in law wanted it because she is having surgery later this month and thinks it will give her some amusement while being laid up.

Best: Two double tube LED 48"shop lights for my indoor growing space. Okay, they were ordered by me.... really, who else could get the perfect gift :)

                                Hi All,

I didn't get any 'bad' presents this year. I got an amazon fire stick, a new coat as the zip on my old one has broken and a lovely Joesph Bentley ash handled hoe.
