I pruned my 3 year old blackcurrant bushes down hard this winter, I now have 2ft high bushes of healthy growth but...no flowers...no fruit?

Wait until next year Rosie and you'll probably have a bumper crop!
Second-year after pruning growth produces the most fruit.
You need to be selective when pruning and try to end up with a balance of old and new wood.
Mulch and feed too as they are hungry berries.

I just have one bush left from my days of fruit gardening, I keep the bush just for the birds but every now and again get sick of it and level the thing, but it just comes back fast furious flowers and fruit!

Must be just luck - good old Ben Sarak

I normally ignore my Blackcurrants until it's time to pick them. However I've just noticed that 4 of them are all scrunched up with blackfly. I don't know whether to bother spraying them or just prune it all off and wait until next year. :(
