Had some Early Blight ages ago, now getting worried about Late Blight.

I've already harvested or cut haulms down on most of my spuds, mainly because I got fed up watering them nearly every day (every day in hot polytunnels). This morning I took the tops off all the spuds being grown for our August Bank Holiday show. Only Sarpo Mira and a couple of varieties for seed potato saving left growing.

Every time I get a full blight period alert it's usually when I'm away for a few days, or it's tipping down with rain and impossible to spray. I now only bother spraying tomatoes. My outdoor toms are mainly Red Alerts that are all harvested before Late Blight becomes a problem, and all the others are in polytunnels and less susceptable, but I'll still spray some special ones I want to save seeds from.

I'm trying to wind down a bit from loads of effort spent protecting stuff from early frosts, early blight, mildew, drought, late blight, late frosts, etc., etc.

EDIT: I would normally spray potato plants being grown for heaviest potato competitions, but all my spuds have horrific scab and the new seed spuds I'm producing from fresh stock wont be ready growing until next year.
