Blueberry?

    Squash one of the blue-ish berries and sniff it to confirm it for yourself.

    Blueberry plants can be like deciduous trees in autumn - the leaf colour can change. Stress and chemical imbalance are probably the cause

    Regarding leaf size, if it is planted in a location with blazing sunshine and/or strong winds then the leaf size tends to be smaller.

    Basically, the plant adapts its leaf size to receive the right amount of sun according to conditions.

      Many thanks for your reply. We have examined and tried one of the berries and it does taste about right. We just wanted to make sure this wasn't something inedible that looked like blueberries.

      May well be suffering from lack of water in this strange summer weather.

      Also they are almost a bog plant and really prefer an acid soil and acid water, so if rain water is not around add a few drops of cider vinegar to each 5ltr watering can and use an Ericaceous liquid feed once a week.
