    Hi
never having grown broad beans before i thought i would try this year.

They are looking good at about 3 to 4 ft high with loads of flowers on but i have noticed that the little " beans" seem to fall off with the spent flowers....... i dont see any bugs about and having never grown them before I am not sure what to expect. I gather that when the little beans start to form you ned to nip the top of the plant out..

Any bean growing advice gratefully received!!!

I water my veg plants once a week, at the weekend, unless the week has had a good inch of rain.

I water each plant, rather than the whole plot, giving each about a litre - so that it soaks down to the roots, rather than just wetting the surface.

Yes, I have watered them regularly. They are in good soil too that is moisture retentive.

Cant understand why they should drop off with the spent flowers....
