Bugs on Nicotiana

    I put 60 Nicotiana into the garden this year. Every single one is covered in tiny bugs..... but they haven't bothered with any of the other plants (antirrhinum, stock, hydrangeas, etc) Any ideas?

    Not until you describe them, colour, size, effect on the plant, all of these plus pics would help.:smile:

      I'll have a go at getting a photo tomorrow but they are really tiny and there are millions of the little darlings!

      They are very tiny and literally appeared overnight! They are on the topside of the leaves, stem and flowers. Not sure this pic helps..... flies.jpg

      Probably aphids, a general insecticide should sort them out.

        Nicotiana are prone to attacks of, aphids, white fly, leafhoppers and grey mould and mosaic virus.

        So it seems for the moment, your plants are providing sustenance for the aphids.

        If you have some appropriate spray, the use it, otherwise a good hosing down can work.
