Busting the myth, Carrots and Parsnips in compost/manure.

    I have myself grown carrots in partly rotted manure, many times before and have stated as such many times here on GC. Still many people will quote that doing so causes "forking", because it is enshrined in folklore and over time it itself becomes "law" and is quoted often in many publications. I know the truth from my own tests over the years, but here is some more evidence from a respected gardener on the subject.



    My purpose of this post is not to promote Charles or his products, but to try and get gardeners to think for themselves and therefore be a leader, rather than follow the pack.
