At least he didn't sheepishly accept his lot.

Assertiveness has much to commend it ;)

Pedro was showing a guest around the area. He pointed at the boats in the harbour, and said "see those boats? I built most of them, but do they call me Pedro the boat builder? No".......

That was just a friendly push.:oopss::oopss:When I worked on the farm's a long time age you had to be on your guard when it came to mating time, the rams get real bossy. When they came for you it was not a few steps but it could be a 10/20 yard charge. One shepard on the next farm to us was hit by one and it was 2 weeks before he could walk. They had to get the horse and cart out and take him home. When a new ram was bought they used to put them in the smallest paddock that they had to stop them from fighting to the death,it was not a very nice thing to see and the noise from the clash of heads was awful .Our shepard once hit one with a 3ins thick fence stake on his head between his ears and eyes, broke the stake in two,the ram just shook his head,:ouch1::ouch1:moved back 10 yards and charged again,so he left him to get on with his job.:runforhills:

I was stationed at Aird Uige on the Isle of Lewis on the Atlantic side for a while. Every Wednesday a few of us used to go trekking across the moors to get to the beaches. I learnt very quickly to carry a thick long stick as we would get attacked by the Rams who seemed to have no fear!!!! The only place they didn't seem to like was the beach itself but they would follow us along the edge of the moor looking at us as if to say "Just come back on the Moor and see what happens!!":hate-shocked::snork:

You'd have liked it there, Ziggy, as it was full of different kinds of plants and the beaches were literally strewn with the bones of Whales looking a bit like Dinosaurs! We even had steaks from a Killer Whale that had washed ashore and the locals made great use of it and, after giving us a pile of cuts from it, didn't waste anything!!!:coffee:

I've eaten eel, shark and crocodile but never whale, I'm curious as to what it tastes like.
