What I know about cactus you could write on a 10bob note.
So I need some help please.
Take a look the following pictures of my little cactus garden that has been resident in our house for about 25 years.
I hate to bin it, but I feel it needs a little TLC.
Ok: A few specs for you.
The tall fella is 36inch tall (91.5cm) from the ground up!
At that height I am expecting to see it toppled over one morning due to its weight.
I have visions of a right prickly mess to clear up...
    Does it need repotting?
If so, how does one handle such a beast?
Those spikey things sure hurt if you get to close to it.
Lastly. if anybody lives local to me and can give it a loving home...
    Then its yours.

I think it could definitely do with repotting. wrap it with various layers of newspaper, or grab it with two pieces of thick polistirol. Lay it on the side, gently, and tap the pot all around until the ground moves. If needed push out the ground through the drainage hole, or if notheing else works crack the pot with a hammer. Use a largish pot with some stones on the bottom for weight and cactus ground on top. Grab the tall cactus and the root ball at the same time (4 hands needed, and a bit of cohordination) and ease it on hte fresh ground. Fill up with more. Remove wrapping. Voila´. :) Some more nice looking stones on top will help stabilyze the plants until rooted in the new ground.

    Gosh !!

That's a scary monster to handle.
    Good luck with the re-potting.

It must like being where it is to have grown to that height.:)

I have just started to take an interest in cacti and have got about 8 little cacti of various tyrpes that I want to plant on in a nice square container.

These plants are only little and I'm pussyfooting around them trying to figure out how to re-pot them to make a nice display. I am not keen on thorns.

Im thinking of using a JCB for this job.!
Thanks for handling tips init sister.
I think this task requires some planning :ie
    Risk assessment
    Safety equipment
PMC ( Program, Method and Contingency )
Can you tell what I did before retirement?
Standy crews and emergency personnel on call.
I may well consider producing an X rated video.
    Wish me luck
