Calling Spruce - strange bee behaviour

    This is probably one for our bee expert. Yesterday there were two incidents of bees starting to form hives on a traffic light in two different towns 65 km apart, here in the Basque Country. It was a really hot day - about 30ÂșC, after weeks of cold, wet weather. Of course the bees were carefully removed and handed over to bee-keepers. But I just wondered if there's an explanation for this behaviour. :spinning:
