I have a passion for Camellias and will start with a few of those in the garden. Fortunately, we have ideal soil for them and a very sheltered position too.
As always, I would love to share this thread with all of you that are lucky enough to grow them too.
In order: Camellia Magnoliaeflora, Camellia Japonica ?(here in the garden before we came),Camellia Jury's Yellow, Camellia Donation,Camellia St Ewe and Magnolia Stellata.

Wonderful Jenny - you certainly have the gift of growing Camellias. I only have one which just has a few flowers.

Thank you GA but it's not a special gift. Many of the gardens where we live have Camellias growing happily. They have the right conditions for their needs.

Unusual isn't it Sheal. It's called "Bob's Tinsie",

            Lovely Camellias :wub2:

I bought quite a few young ones last year but hardly any have flowered. I think it's because I put the pots in a north facing position and apparently they like some sun for their buds to develop. Needless to say they have now been moved into a better position so fingers crossed for next year.

            I did get a couple though ...

I love the colour of Debutante MW. My camellias are in the front ( northfacing garden) and seem to flower up quite well. Maybe yours are settling in,

:) Oh Jenny, what a lovely thread as I love this trio. I grew up in my teens/twenties in Alabama with a short spell in South Carolina (Summerville near Charleston where Porgy & Bess was filmed) and these three beauties are abundant in these locations.

Sadly, I have tried and tried to grow them here but we are too hot and dry (whereas Alabama and the Carolinas are hot but humid and wet). In saying that, there are several Magnolia trees in nearby Silves where we have our river property and they are just magnificent ...

                Magnolia2 22 Feb 08.JPG

They bloomed here in March/April so are now gone from us.

That's a beautiful Maggi Victoria. Must be quite mature too,

They are Jenny ... I've know them for at least 15 years ... I was taking the photograph from under the tree looking up ... There are two, the one above and one next to it and then, believe it or not, one at the Lidl there ... and in such a tiny town. I actually don't know of them anywhere else.
