This flower came in a bouquet and I have no idea what it is. I have never seen anything like it before. The darker pink bits are quite furry. Any ideas?

    Hello lindyco.

Your flower is a Celosia cristata, the Crested Cockscomb also known as Brain Celosia or Wool Flowers. They are not as common as the Celosia plumosa, Prince of Wales Feathers.

Yours appears to be the original tall variety which florists would use. I have the dwarf variety in mixed pots in a deep burgundy colour which makes it look like velvet.
