One of my neighbors was getting rid of this tree and huge pot and I took it in. Pics below.

But I don't know what it is and how to look after it.

Can anyone identify it and maybe give a few suggestions on how to look after it please?

    Thank you

      Fatsia japonica.
Pretty hardy, not seen one that big in a pot.
Will need a fair amount of water and feed if you intend keeping it in the pot.

Brilliant feature plant, evergreen and perfect for flower arranging. Mine is in the ground and in dappled shade. Completely hardy and no trouble. Word of warning though, the flowers are poisonous.

Fantastic! I shall start feeding and watering it regularly, as I intend to keep it in the pot. Good to hear that it does well in dappled shade because that's the only space I have for it.

            Thanks everyone.
