    Hello all

    I hope you are well.

I have a Ninebark 'Burning Embers' Shrub that is looking very spindly.

Last Year it suffered some damage, I think from either a Cat or a Squirrel which left some main branches broken.

I have done a usual search on the Internet and from what I have found it says that Ninebark Shrubs can be Hard Pruned to approximately 3" to 6" above soil level before Spring gets going, which would be around now.

Can anyone please confirm that Ninebark Shrubs can indeed be Hard Pruned?

I understand that I will not get any flowers this Year but I want to give the Shrub the best structure to start with.

    Thanks in advance

    Kevin
