 There seems to be some dispute as to weather we put it in paper recycle or general rubbish............Do YOU know?

    We do every year.
There may be an issue with the silvery/metallic stuff but with the amount we use it's cheapo-cheapo only.

If I could get the lid closed on my compost bin, I'd have ripped the wrapping paper into tiny pieces and composted it. Might still do that and just find a way to make it fit because you have to ration what you put in the wheelie bin over christmas, because there's no way of knowing how long til the next bin collection.

I've been trying to find out why they don't recycle insulin injector 'pens' but it is an uphill struggle.

    Cheers, Tony.

We wrap our gifts to each other in carefully selected and saved pages from newspapers and magazines collected throughout the year........nice colourful adverts, gardening pics from the suppliments etc., etc., .......(it's surprising how attractive they can look) ....after unwrapping the modest presents, the "wrapping paper" is consigned to the recycle bin.

Very good a-a. Actually, years ago, my Sis started making envelopes from magazine pages with nice pictures and all you had to do was stick a label on the front. I think I still have some of them ... very nice, attractive, personal, cost nothing and still recyclable! Sadly, I don't send anyone things much in envelopes these days! :cry3:

I also liked (past tense as I don't 'do' gifts any more) wrapping presents in brown paper with a pretty ribbon or just string tied around it! :)

Am I supposed to use that? :yikes: I use the curling ribbon to hold them together (and that gets put in the recycle bin)

Same here :dbgrtmb: We stopped people giving us gifts years ago.

We prefer to have a nice chat on the phone or their company. When people come round for dinner (quite often) they don't bring gifts. If they want to bring some token it's usually some nice paper serviettes (always useful) or some fruit. :)
