Canarian, but what is it?

I bought a packet of datura seeds in Lanzarote in February this year. This sprouted among the daturas. Does anyone one have an idea as to what it is?
I'm intrigued by the way the leaves seem to split into threads.

it's a palm of some kind...:wink:

 

Could it be washingtonia filifera?

I think you're right Ivory - I've just Googled a few pics and descriptions and they describe my plant pretty closely.

 

Ivory is spot on, again.:thumb::thumb::D

 

Probably the only palm that is reasonably hardy and capable of growing at that speed.

Cant remember exactly Dave.
I think about ten years from seed, the first five frost free in ever increasing size pots, finally planted out with a bit of fleece for its first winter.

It suffers a bit in winter, but touch wood, its doing well.

4ft, 3 leave's and one on the way..

 

Sounds big enough for outside.:thumb:
Expect a fair amount of damage by spring, unless its in a very warm spot.
I should recover quickly in spring.
