This is my latest aquisition via Ebay. Chamaerops Humilis Cerifera, the unusual blue/grey variety of the European fan palm and just as hardy.
It came from Hotplantco and was bare root to cut the postage costs. It's been repotted from a 9in into a 12in pot so here's hoping it will settle down and start growing although they are slow growers anyway.

Here's A couple of pics of the "back yard" as some have called it.

This one shows Begonia Evansiana(Grandis) which seeds itself everywhere.

A few of the pots by the back wall with the Callistemon Viminalis flowering well.

Looking good strongylodon. I think you did well with the Chamaerops. Have you tried Alocasia macrorrhizos? I got it to flower but I failed to overwinter it outside.

Pete, it's got four side shoots but I think I will leave them on. I reduced the pic too much so it was not clear. It appears more blue/grey in the sun and will colour with age.
BM, I thought I would take a chance on it as for £20 (+£5p&p) for such a scarce plant it was worth it.
    Here's a bigger pic.

I have been buying off ebay and got some good stuff, I am amazed at in all this hot weather how good the plants have been when they have arrived. I am still waiting for mine from hotplantco, can't remember what I got, I think hedichiun Tara, we will see what turns up.

got a great colocasia "Balack magic" from ?easytropics" and after a cimicifugia, but keep getting out bid !

I haven't got any room for any more plants in the garden, so no Colocasias, bananas or tree ferns. :(

    Hi WACO

I bought a colocasia "Balack magic" from them a couple of months ago. It was tiny when it arrived, but is growing like mad now. Next year its going to be fantastic. The leaves are stunning - and go darker green to black in direct sunlight.
