      Fab photos! Some stunning plants.

I liked how your angle of the Christopher Lisney garden broom had the giant wheelie bin in the background - whether by accident or design, it made me chuckle :heehee:

      Nice post Kristen.:blue thumb:

I don't like that Heliconia without the foliage - some misguided arty type got involved there methinks.
And that Polygonatum stenanthum! That is deffo on the wish list:hapydancsmil:

 You are too kind, thanks :)

Showing my ignorance now! Which one was that? I had assumed they were full-plants, rather than construed ones :dunno:

Me too. It was blinking tall ...

What sort of name if Begonia Sizemoreae? They definitely got the Summer Intern to name that one!

"You must have done Latin at school recently, come up with a name for that one"

      "Which one?"

"The one over there with the leaves which have more size than the other ones, eh?"

      "That one there?"

      "Aye"

      "Sizemoreae?"

      "Perfect"

      :heehee:

Readily available I think. Trouble I have with those Cornus kousa & C. florida (apart from the fact that they want a more acid soil than mine :( ) is that they are all blinking lovely ... choosing one/some/several is impossible ... I need THE LOT!.

Cornus x 'Eddie's White Wonder' for example (I reckon that is the best-of-the-bunch :) ).

      http://www.bluebellnursery.com/catalogue/trees/Cornus/C/5203288

BlueBell Nursery says "Looks very nice when planted near Cornus kousa 'China Girl', another dogwood with white bracts which flowers a little later, so the bracts of the 'China Girl' are coming into their best as the bracts of the 'Eddies White Wonder' fade and go over." - so I need one of those then :)

China Girl - an improved form of Cornus kousa chinensis (that good news, I don't need that one TOO!)

Cornus kousa 'Miss Satomi' - more of the same, but this time in Pink :)

      http://www.bluebellnursery.com/catalogue/trees/Cornus/C/775

Cornus kousa 'Schmetterling' - if you want a vigorous / large plant :)

Various Cornus Florida Cherokee varieties - white or pink flowers / variegated leaves

cracking autumn colour from those Cornus varieties too ...

and then there is Cornus controversa ‘Variegata’ - I've planted one of them at the end of a hedge-lined "walk" here, as a centre-piece (although it is currently tiny!). It gets a Bob's Score (on CGF) of 9 - that's rare praise indeed :)

      IMG_2837_CornusControversaVariegata.jpg
      Told you it was tiny!

      Its supposed to do this:

      like a wedding cake :)

Right! I'll shut up now :)

Wednesday ... I think that suits me, one more evening wibble on Beeb [compared to Tuesday], before the visit, to get the low-down on stuff that I might want to see / understand / etc.

Translate "wibble" please:  :noidea: :help:

I thought a "wibble" was akin to ... :cry3: ... but, that doesn't appear in context with the above :dunno:

        Now now, no tantrums please!

Wet,during the winter, would be the issue (causing it to rot). All my Arisaemas are ion plunged-pots, bought in for the winter just so that they are drier.

Ben Candlin is a good source of Info (and tubers :) )

Ah, maybe I have a tendency to "wibble" (K-style) when I "wibble" (M-style) hence the confusion  :heehee:

Kristen - Heliconia are a member of the ginger family, so no ferny foliage! Here's a pic lifted from the web (all mine are too close to show the plant well)....................
