Highlight text, press the "Quote ME!" speech balloon, then press the "Get Quotes(1)" link under the Reply box.

If that doesn't work then might be best to do it the "old way" - press REPLY under the message, and then the whole of the original message is quoted - if necessary you can then delete bits of it from within the [QUOTE] section

Picking up my sister and her lovely guy in the morning, then off to an Open house traditional
fizz and home made cheese straws do. Then , if I've set the timer up correctly, back to the aroma of roast beef and turkey...:fingers crossed: - put the tatties and snips in to roast and hopefully on the table for her Majesty's speech at 3pm. Home made Christmas pud( heating up for a couple of hours or so in the slow cook crock pot) with St Lucia rum butter for afters....
and a game of Ludo ( Mr Namaste request) and a turkey/beef sarnie with an enormous cuppa about 7pm. Booked a taxi at 10pm for my sister and her man to take them home.

Not really, Madhhlia, :dunno::heehee:. I was just an Air Radar fitter"erk" in the RAF and they were short of them at the time so you would get "borrowed" some times for Exercises.....which could be a perk sometimes, and sometimes not. The Navy food was good and as I said the Navy was good enough to put us on the Tot list. The Tot seemed to be used as a currency on the Ship and as I didn't like Rum I suddenly had a lot of friends!!!:heehee:
The weather was blessedly calm and lovely for the 6 weeks on board and the Indian Ocean Pirates weren't around then, not that we would have been approached as we were shooting at targets in the sea and being towed by radio controlled aircraft. Still, got a nice tan!!:snork:

Thanks Kristen, I know how it works but it's getting it to work that's the problem! It tends to highlight everything around the part I want, I've tried hitting the quote I want in different places which sometimes works. It's also an intermittent thing, sometimes it works others not. The same happens with the reply button. It happened here with your quote. Sometimes it doesn't come up first time.

I was so ignorant, at sea no papers, no radio, we sailed up and down the Vietnam coast, and I looked in wonder at the fabulous tropical storm ashore :-)

Lots of Marines and Crabfats got their TOT but did not like it, so as Armandi states it was currency, You had the choice of half a pint of Grog (1/3 of 130 proof Rum, 2/3 water), or 3d a day, No one took the 3d a day, but you get most things for a TOT
A stand in for sentry duty, or a nice Egyption cotton bath towel, shoes, boots anything really MOST took the Florin :-)

Reminds me of a story my father use to tell about his wartime in the RAF and a Pole towing an artillery drogue behind his plane. First round goes off in front of the plane, pilot comes over the R/T "What you think I do? You think I pull him, or I push him?" :heehee:

Something amiss with your PC then I reckon. Presumably the only "Click and nothing happens" you are encountering is on GC? Makes it harder to figure I think - given that it is working OK for everyone (presumably?) else :(

It worked this time! :) You're probably right. I haven't got a computer tech brain and it needs someone to update things. My son-in-law usually sorts out any issues I have but he tends to 'fiddle' with other stuff in the process and doesn't explain very well what he's done. :doh:I'll have to try and pin my son down at some point to see what he can do via remote.

All the other day to day issues I can deal with myself, computer clean up etc.

I think it was you, told me in the past that Java Script may need updating because I have issues loading pictures here as well.

"Java" rather than "Java Script" - despite the similarity of name they are unrelated :(

Yes, I think that the File Upload uses Java - and also Flash - so might be worth checking that you have an up-to-date version of that too. Both of those will normally give you an alert when a new version is available, but its also possible that the alert has got switched off (perhaps you could get a Bright Young Person to check that both alerts are set to ON for you? :) )

Other possibility is that if you are using Chrome there is an inbuilt Flash, and then the normal External one too. They can argue with each other, so another thing to check is that you only have the most appropriate one. If you aren't using Chrome then I don't think that problem will exist.

When I was with No.III Squadron we were detached to the MPC at RAF Valley in Holyhead to practice firing air to air missiles. We were using RAF Valley Jindiviks [unmanned drones] which towed flares and the idea was that the missiles were supposed to hit the flares. Unfortunately, due to the fact the missiles were fitted with close proximity fuses which exploded the warhead feet away from the flares we also managed to shoot down 3 of the Jindiviks which didn't make us popular with RAF Valley!!:dunno::hate-shocked::heehee:

I have the same trouble as you Sheal, since the upgrade of this site No quote appears
apart from the quote, I also have to click post reply twice, first time it greys out then after about 20 seconds no post made and Post Reply is available again, it always goes second time ?
