I love a sparkling dashboard in my car but always seem to get smears, they say dont use products, they say use soapy water.
Just need to see it sparkly clean...................Not to much to ask......Is it?

Wet wipes to remove dirt then polish with a microfibre cloth ... also excellent for mirrors and glass. :)

I know car salesmen use those sponge wipe things you get for shoes. ( the old days of part time jobs as a teen)

We also keep one of those in the glove compartment Claire for a quick polish of the leather.

Whatever you do, DON'T use anything like Pride or Mr Sheen. Makes the surface reflect the sunlight like a mirror!

I use a slightly damp microfibre cloth, gets rid of all the grime and dust without smears, as Daisees says all the sprays etc just add to the problem by leaving a residue.

Even I can answer that last question roders,
NO, it is not a Jaycloth or anything like it. Totally different.

I think wet-wipes can leave a film too, but then I don't use expensive ones, lol.

Best for most things I think is soapy water, rinse then dry.

    cheers

Hi borrowers ... it depends on if the wet wipes have things like Aloe Vera in them. We have a mirror over the bath on the wall that is 105x80cm and was a right nuisance to keep sparkly until we started using wet wipes then a fibrecloth to polish.

Roders, I think you can buy them just about anywhere, at least here you can ... grocery store, cheapie shops, DIY shops. I got mine in a large DIY 5 for a fiver. They can be thrown in the washing machine 500 times ... good value for money!

    Hiya Victoria,
Yeah I know what you mean about the glass but you are polishing afterwards. You are posh aren't you, lol :) I like it when it's murky, I think I look OK, lol!

Remember when it was vinegar & newspaper?!

    cheers

I like checking for wrinkles ... or lack thereof ... :hehe:

I still always keep a spray bottle with water and vinegar in it for the kitchen window over the sink. :gnthb:

Sorry Roders I didn't see this thread.

I use Tesco Baby Wipes as they clean everything with great efficiency.:yho:

...Then dress the dash with a proper application of....

    http://www.elitecarcare.co.uk/poorboys-trim-restorer.php?cPath=26_32

Use a microfibre cloth or applicator, short pile is better for interiors as it doesn't deposit fluff like the longer pile...

Have a look at the website above. I use them a great deal and if you want a discount code I have one for 5% that the Alex gives to detailing members.
