    Hello all

    I hope you are well.

I have a Clematis 'Nelly Moser' planted against an East facing fence that was all but dead last year, however, since Spring this year it has put on some growth and even had one flower and a couple of buds as of yesterday.

Until, we had a heavy rain shower over night and now it is very droopy, its leaves are limp as they would be if it was overwatered.

Will it recover by itself or do I need to help it along, if so, how?

    Thanks in advance

    Kevin

Think I might have said this before but Nelly moser is probably the poorest specimen of clematis I've come across.
You only have to look at and it dies.

      Hello @pete

I knew I could rely on you

So, I should be looking at replacing it.

I have a Daniel Deronda, Rouge Cardinal and Montana 'Mayleen' in the garden which are all growing well, even after the heavy rain.

Do you have any suggestions for a Clematis to replace the Nelly Moser with?

It is planted against an East facing fence.

      Thanks in advance

      Kevin

Sorry Kevin, I'm not really the one to give you advise on Clematis, apart from my one venture which was nelly moser, I'm not keen on them.
      Best wait for someone else:smile:

      Hello @pete

      Thanks.

I will get in touch with Taylor's Clematis tomorrow as they are local and should be able to provide advice.

      Thanks

        Hello all

After speaking (emailing as no phone number) to Taylors Clematis they recommended a few Clematis and I am going to go with Clematis 'Picotee'.

I will be ordering one for now in early July so I will see how it fairs, if all goes well I may get another to replace the 'Nelly Moser' that disappeared in the front garden, 6 months after planting.

        Thanks

        Kevin
