    Hi all,

I’ve recently planted my first bare root climbing rose against the bottom of my sunny south facing wall. Dug through some rose feed into the soil, mulched with muck etc and it seems to be doing great! Lots of new shoots. I’m planning on training it to cover the wall, should I thin out the shoots to 3-4 or just let them all grow? There is bout 6-7 shoots across 3 main stems.

    Thanks,
    Tom

Hi Tom, it's better to leave the Rose as it is until it gets it's roots down properly, which could take until early/mid Summer. So leave it in peace for this year as that will give you an idea of how it's shaping and whether or not it's doing well. When it starts to show a bud or two then give it a weekly feed with Tomato Feed [if you can remember:heehee:].
