Hi I have 3 bulbs and I dont think I will use all three so if someone would like to exchange one of them for something unusual from their garden I will be delighted...I bought the bulbs from crocus, the description is here http://www.crocus.co.uk/plants/_/colocasia-esculenta/classid.2000002156/
I think its the species colocasia Black marble or hawaii, as it says on the website that its going to have patchy leaves with red veins... but frankly I have no idea what it will look like.

The bulbs are 4 inch in diameter and roughly 0.5-1 kg, plant can grow upto 4-5ft.

      Dear Ian,
may be something fast growing and tropical. I have a 6m x 3m area at the back of my garden where I am growing some wild flowers under a tree and planning to put a pergola with swingset. I am planning to grow my two colocasia next to the swing to give some exotic tropical vibes. So something along those lines will be nice..

Will have a look, nothing at the moment springs to mind.
But I would be interested in trying a couple as I've never grown them

      verbena
      Achillea
Or I will be keen on dark foilage plants which get bushy or something with black flowers...

great! actually there is a thread at GC where someone has mentioned that you can actually buy them on asian food markets as eddoes, they are much cheaper like that.
Atleast now, we can exchange experience of growing colocasia for the first time :P
:sad:I hope I find someone to swap or i can ofcourse grow it myself :heehee:
