Colour coorindation ????

This is probably an ignorant question, but as I've said before I'm a complete technophobe ....

Why are some questions in red and some in blue?

 

Let's try colour "coordination" but I also see this with visitors for the day. Thought I figured it out a couple of times, but no ...

 

As far as I've been able to work out - red = those you haven't read, and blue those you have - but not sure whether that's a topic, or just the message.

 

Another question. How does one get Member Rated Stars.
Is it the number of posts one puts in.
One would be nice.

Click on the above link, which I have copied from Nathan's posting of 'Frequently Asked Questions' scroll down about 19 questions to 'What are Members Ratings' and it will explain the Members Rating system!
Also lots of other info on there that Nathan has provided for newbies!

 

Fran is right about the colour co-ordination but it also means different things in different places.

In the top line
my profile | directory login | register | search | faq | forum home
you'll notice that the words are red except for one which is blue, which tells you the section you are currently in. The same applies to the 'menu' at the top of the forums box.

Another place is the messages you get beside the post box - "Instant Graemlins", etc. Black is inactive, red is active.

Hope this explains things a little more. There's just so much stuff on a forum like this!!!

Another question .... what is the relevance of the number in brackets to the right of the reference question? It varies greatly. :confused:

 

It is the number of replies on the topic.

 

Thanks, Liz. I thought maybe it was ... should have done some counting before asking! Turns out it was the games threads that were confusing me, such high numbers there, but makes sense now! :rolleyes:

 

I STILL don't understand ... in the forum home page where it shows who is on line and how many visitors there are, some people are in blue ... why? I haven't "spoken" to them or "looked" at what they are doing. Like Webmaster at the moment .. I have spoken to you Nathan today nor "corresponded" with you in any way ... why are you blue?

You're actually probably not blue but a happy chappie, but you know what I mean?
