    Hi Dave

Pinks and Astilbes are hardy - and will be OK outside where they are.

There are two types of Geranium. The real Geranium, like the picture above, is often called a hardy Geranium because its hardy and will be OK. But the bright red bedding Geraniums are really Pelargoniums and they won't survive outside. But they will be OK if you store them in a frost free place and let them dry out. Give them only a tiny amount of water to prevent them totally drying out. I have stored them in a garage, but you must remember to take them out when they try to regrow in the spring as they will need light. Actually they can take a small amount of frost if they are dry.

Some Fuchsias are hardy, but many of the ones that garden centres sell are not. I don't think they will do dormant like Pelargoniums and they don't like to dry out. So I would keep them indoors in a pot in good light, where they will continue to grow and flower. You can also do that with the Pelargoniums if you like and have the space.

I think PeterS has said it all Dave.
My Astilbes and pinks live in the ground and get on fine.
I have hardy fuchsias and geraniums in the ground which get on fine so we need to know which kind you have.
