      Phew...I see a small white flower.
      That very nicely rules out Japanese knotweed.
      Please can you take a clear close up of that small flower and add it to this thread.

      I wonder if it is Calystegia sepium..bindweed?

          Just wondering but could it be Chinese Lantern (Physalis alkekeng)?

          I know I have seen them in that area of the border in the past.

            Does look awfully like a Chinese lantern flower and leaf to me.. They have 5 small white petals which yours looks suspiciously like @Kevin Cowans
