            No not really :noidea:
But, the reason that one is still on the plate is because ... the other person had "pretended" to eat it ... so I thought I would "man up" and have the other one ... only he put his back on the plate *after* I had eaten mine

Yup ... but only one of us left the table branded a "wimp" ;)

No different really from eating winkles from the beach when I was a kid; or escargot when I went to Paris. Lurve shrimp/prawns (and liver and herring roe and .... MARMITE! :wub2:)
No one could accuse me of being a "fussy" eater :heehee:

Going back to the original topic ...

.... if that was all I could afford and was available ...

... too right I would eat bugs!

Actually, when I think back to my ex-MIL's cooking .... I'd rather have had bugs!

My Taiwanese mate had grilled wasps as a delicacy at his wedding.

Our aversion to these things is purely a cultural thing. There is no actual logic to it. We eat crabs but would freak at the idea of easting a spider. We'll eat the bum of one animal yet freak at the thought that another animal was sneakily included in our burgers. We'll eat shrimps and prawns which are related to woodlice. Would we eat woodlice? We eat cockles and muscles, but snails are, by all normal people, considered disgusting.

Have you asked the French if they consider themselves "normal" ? :noidea:  :heehee:
(No wonder Calais is bursting at the seams - refugees all terrified of having to eat snails!!! :loll: )
