Watched "CRUFTS" last night and was horrified........ How the hell can a deformed (banana back) German Shepherd Dog with an "Unhealthy" curved back win best in breed?

That dog WILL suffer from hip dysplasia in years to come and suffer human stupidity!

I have a German Shepherd, well two, mum and daughter, both "straight backed", mum hip, elbow and all other health tests done before we considered mating her..... made sure that was the same of the sire.

Dog breeders have a lot to answer for. Great danes with bad backs, westies with skin issues, french bulldogs always in the vets, black labs, spaniels with skulls too small for their brains, english bulldogs, etc etc etc.
      And handbag dogs, wtf?

Couldn't agree more.I'm well aware that unfortunately the good breeders will take the wrap for the complete idiots that seem to think they are breeding the best dog and they all end up getting tarred with the same brush but I blame the Kennel club.
My issue is with the likes of say Labradoodles and such crosses..don't get me wrong beautiful creatures but back in the day they were known as mongrels/heinz57 ..What's the Kennel club thinking about ?

I'm thinking this is the reason the BBC stopped covering Crufts, I might be wrong.
Breeders are not the animal lovers they try to pretend they are, was once sold a cocker spaniel pup from a so called good local breeder, this was 30 yrs ago.
Very insistent we took out insurance, couldn't understand why?

After two days the pup got sick, rang the breeder, he said bring it back we will get our vet to check it out.
Rang a day later and said the pup had died and we should claim on the insurance.

Think it was Parvo, the kennels were riddled with it.
He knew what he was up to.

and the place is still there.:yikes:
