Cucumbers and courgette seedlings

    What is it that makes these things seem almost turbocharged? Mine germinated over the weekend, and already they are romping away with great big cotyledon leaves and even the makings of the first true leaves; there is a notable change in size of them on a daily basis - indeed, I would even go as far as to say that they are notably bigger this afternoon than they were this morning!

    Can we not find out what it is that makes these get off to such an enthusiastic start, and cross it into other stuff like dahlias and begonias :snork:

      its a big seed full of energy , but I do agree they do romp away, great for kids to start with ..
