Otherwise known as Indian bottle gourd, has anyone managed to successfully grow them outdoors this year?

Thanks, I appreciate the linked info.

I did see an Indian couple successfully grow them in the community garden in 2013 but a subsequent trial by myself and another member led to failure due to late blight in 2014 (the same one that affected the tomatoes that year).

I counted 43 ladyfinger-sized (biscuit) affected gourds, from two plants, before cutting my losses.
