        Hi Nick, I used to love Desmond Dekker.

        One of the first records I ever bought was The Israelites , when it was re-released in 75.

        I remember my mom saying that it wouldn't be a hit because it was only about five and a half years since it was no 1, and I was so chuffed when it got in the top 10.

        I remember it being called the " me ears are alight " song :)

        74 and 75 were brilliant years for music, both old and new. My interest in Motown started than as they were in the habit of re-releasing their old classics from the 60's along with new works. Another of my favourites was R, Dean Taylor's " There's a ghost in my house " which flopped over here in 68 but made no 3 in 74.

            I hadn't heard of him until about eighteen months ago Victoria when I came across the Santana track. I'm still yet to listen to his various albums. :doh::)
