I've had some great success this year with lettuces and have been happily munching on them for quite a while, however, they are of a certain soft sort even though I have many sorts on the go. Is there such a thing as cut-and-come crispy lettuce (like Romaine or similar) ?

    Thanks

I have grown two lots this year and been impressed both time and can not believe how much you get off them
I did not think of them as soft though
One thing I am trying at the minute is little gems a mate grow a couple and said he chopped the head off but never pulled up the rootball and in a few weeks he was growing another lettuce so might be worth trying that ?

I only grow little gems too, not cut and come again but they are always reliable and never bitter. Just sow a few more every couple of weeks for a continuous supply.

It seems to me alot of lettuce varieties seem to come back if you cut them and leave the root ball in. Certainly little gem, butterhead, rocket and another variety that I can't remember all seem to come back.:)
