I cut off a load of spider plant runners from my friends plant and planted the big babies in pots that are doing great weeks later, the runners looked pretty so I put them in water, they flowered and are now making lots of little babies. Whats the best way to separate this babies form the runners in the vase now?
    Thank you

Can you see little dry white roots at the bases of the new plants?

The little roots will form in air. Once you see them you can put them straight into some compost and detach the new plant from the runner (scissors make a clean cut). It might not be necessary even to wait that long. Spider plants seem to be quite determined to grow and propagate. I'm up to my eyebrows in them, don't have good locations for them all. If you have several new little ones, try potting one up without further ado. I would not bet against it settling right in and taking off -- as long as it has compost to grow in.
