    Hi Woo

This time of year in the garden centers etc lots of choice but you have to be careful they haven't dried out too much as they have been in the shops since beginning of February where I live , so I would imagine same with you.

Have a look on line if needing more than a couple

I have added the link for you ,

        Hi Woo :)

Dahlias are fairly easy from seed, and you get the tuber at the end of the year to store yourself for the following year.

I have grown a couple of varieties from Mr Fothergills and been quite successful

If you want the REALLY big fellas, I have to be honest and say that the XXXL Dahlias from T&M are very good (although not cheap) - they performed for me in 2012 when everything was getting washed out with rain!

These are the pompom ones I grew from seed last year - in fact, as I type the tubers are in trays of moist compost sending the green sprouts up for this year.....

There is the odd single flower in there, but the majority were ball/doubles

They were really good for me last year - really sturdy plants, with the ball flowers held nicely above the foliage - average around 2½ to 3ft, and cheap as chips from seeds.

Good evening Spruce and F/C ,thank you my friends your helpful and friendly advice is really appreciated, I am some what confused(that's easy for me) I was watching gardeners world and also some of our friends just lay the tubers very near the surface, yet on most sites they say bury the tubers 10cm deep:scratch::)

Always conflicting ways to do things , I only found out from my "show begonia book" that begonias need to be totally covered in compost as they root all over and this really helps with producing a strong and healthy plant , if growing dahlias to produce cuttings you just half bury them, it makes it easier to take the cuttings so you can see what you are doing with a heal from the tuber but if not taking cuttings fully bury them so they will root 360

This is my dahlia tubers, these are pompom ones. When they have started sprouting I will plant them in separate pots, they are pretty easy things to grow.
