Darker-Side E-Bay Purchases

Just had my friend on the phone today, She bidded for a Rover car on e-bay, paid only to find out there was no car and the money somehow ended up in the netherlands.

 

Unfortunately that is a well known scam (but not known to your friend obviously). If it was paid through Paypal credit card he/she may be able to get the money back. It is sickening that there are such evil people around.

 

She said it was paid through paypal, police are involved and the fraud squad as apparently it happened to about 4 or 5 other people. she and her hubby had bought a car a few months ago with no problems they were after a second car, then this happens, its really dreadful felt so sorry for her she has been in such a state since last friday.

 

I hope there is a happy outcome to this as ebay can be a very good way of buying but unfortunately some thing like this will put folk off.
