Desert Island crops

    So you know the rules - if you were marooned on a desert island (climate of your choice!) and could only take 10 types of seed with you, what would they be? You can tell us what your luxury and your book would be too if you like :D

    I think I'd have to go with - sweetcorn, beetroot, rocket, broad beans, courgettes, cherry tomatoes, spinach, purple sprouting, runner beans - and if I could grow avocadoes, that'd be lovely!

    Claire i would have to take sweetcorn, cabbage, beetroot, peas, french beans, carrots, spring onions,leeks and brocoli. My luxury would have to be chocolate, complete chocoholic!!!

    I'd take pea seeds and sweetcorn. My luxury items would be a machine to convert sea water to drinking water with attached mobile phone to ask company how to set it up and the complete 'harry potter book set' So I can't go unitl 23rd july.
    But hold that ticket, i'm packing now! [​IMG]

    Hi Claire,I would take Potato seeds,Pea, Carrots,
    Corncockle,Iris,Carnations,Primrose,Cowslip,SweetPeas and Daffodil seeds.

    My luxury Item would be Cocolate,though I would rather take my 'Love Actually'DVD but wouldn't be able to watch it with out the player...

    My favourite book would be the 'Bridges Of Madison County' by Robert James Waller :D

    radishes,
    watermelon,
    melon,
    cucumber,
    strawberries,
    raspberries,
    courgettes,
    green peas

    and then I would have a mirror and some scissors

    LOL, great answers so far. Miraflores, what do you want the mirror and scissors for, are we allowed to ask?
    I think for my luxury perhaps I'd take a packet of sweetpea seeds but I really can't decide about the book.

    Ah, thanks miraflores - I thought you were going to try out some new hairstyles or something!
    The big hat sounds like a good idea, as does the complete works of DH Lawrence. Badsal, gardening by the moon sounds interesting - do you already do this or are you taking the book to learn about it? Maybe I should start a thread on it...
