Disguising an unsightly composter

Hi.

We're renting a property with a small garden. There is a tree at the bottom, and below in the shade is a composter about the size of a water butt. It's a bit of a dead area below the tree, the ground has been cleared but it's probably too dark to grow much, but we'd like to somehow cover the unsightly plastic composter (which we're stuck with).

Any ideas? We thought maybe a ladder planter frame, with pots, leaning up against the front, with pots, but it might not produce much foliage of interest in the shade. Or another idea would be to have a large flat, wide planter sitting on top, the same diameter as the composter, but we'd need some really fast growing plants, happy in the shade, to grow and cover the thing in one season.

I suppose we could through a camouflage tarp over it haha.

 

You could use woody and twiggy waste which you can't compost to make a "dead hedge" in front of it - great for wildlife: Woody waste: shredding and composting / RHS Gardening

Or just put up a willow hurdle or fence panel?

 

I'd go for willow whips,cheap as chips .
