Yes, think we all like Owls... except when the oldest, largest nestling sometimes gobbles up the smallest one. There's a reason for that, and we mustn't always judge 'Nature' on our sentimental terms.
Here, we often hear a Tawny Owl at night and had Barn Owls nesting in a box I made for them, in the roof of a very old cottage we had in Brittany at one time.

Hoot hoot, my Dear friend, has anyone recorded our favourite, 'Medaway' owl when he's dozing. Hoot twit and snore. Great to have you close by.

Seems ages ago now. A summers evening would find Val & I plus our next door neighbours having a chat and a laugh outside. Silently the odd Tawny Owl would glide close by. The trees at the bottom of the gardens were their roost. Along the lane, was a small farm of dairy cows, so plenty of rodents. Now the cows have gone, cruell vandals set the barnes on fire. The screams etc from the poor animals will remain in my ears forever. Now there are so many cats about, much of the smaller wildlife has gone. Bats also have vanished. Modern building techniches have put paid to so much.

When I worked at Rushgrove House. There was a Tawny Owl, perched in a tree. As soon as I showed up, he/she would let out a screech followed by the familiar, t'wit t'woo.
The Lady of the house said one day. Your friend has spotted you mister Allen. I made her laugh. Good jobe he's not a parrot. He might say what he thinks of me.

I really do believe that we and our animal friends can share and develop a trusting relationship.

Yes, I like owls. :) Living in a rural area it's completely quiet at night and I can stand on my back doorstep listening to owls calling. We're also coming up to the fox breeding season and I can here vixens calling late September into October.

I have Tawney owls living in the woods at the back I hear them from time to time out there. They were less popular on warm autumn nights when they did their wooing from the the rowan tree outside my open bedroom window. Unfortunately the rowan was removed last year as it was dying back rapidly, this year I miss them.

We have what they call Little Owls in the orchards around me here. They are small and make a hell of a noise at 3/4 in the morning ... which sets the dogs off. One of our cats caught one once and brought it into the house. T'other Half caught it in a tea towel from the bathroom sink and let it back into the orchard.

Even if an owl did almost scare me to death many, many years ago, (long story!) I still like them, and even have these in my garden...

Mainly tawny owls here too, with an occasional little owl... It should be good country for barn owls, but I’ve not seen any. A few doors up (diplomatic plates driving in and out, two permanent gardeners, and about 4 acres of land) they have lots of different next boxes, including one for barn owls, so it’s not just me who thinks the environment is right for them!

Of course we like Owls? Nice to hear them hooting at 3AM. or the little squeak when they caught the mouse at 11PM.
