Solved Does anyone know what plant this is?

    It lives in my neighbour's garden (we dont get on) in hot summers and just survived a -15 winter. lovely thing but what is it?

        Certainly one of the Pulsatillas. Bit hard to distinguish between them as the differences are rather small. Those are the seed heads by the way.
