I've been picking up plants to put into my new tropical project and got a couple of Dracunulus Vulgaris bulbs amongst other things. Can anybody tell me how deeply these bulbs should be planted?

The other question is regarding Bajoo's. I started this little project at the beginning of the month and had hoped to get hold of some already matured stems that I could just overwinter in the shed until next spring, but haven't found a supplier as yet. Do they become available at all before springtime or am I just going to have to grow from young plants?

As to dracunculus, I dont think it matters too much how deep you plant, the corms sort them selves out after a year or so, a couple of inches down should be ok.

Dont think you are likely to find a large basjoo for sale, mostly sold as young plants in the spring.

Ah OK thanks. I do have a couple of young Basjoo's that I'll just overwinter as houseplants and then plant out next spring.

You can overwinter Basjoo in a frost free greenhouse, just keep it slightly dryish.

Mine Dracunculus are deep (15cm plus) with sharp drainage. This is possibly over the top but it does get rather cold this far inland.
